Burberry Makers House
My first blog post for Meylor Paper Goods, and where better to start than where I last left off.
I left my full time graphic design role back in May, and this was a great opportunity to revisit, reflect and be proud of the brand. Until the 27th of September, Burberry have their own pop up in Makers House, London. In partnership with The New Craftsman, inside holds a series of artisan craft based activities as well as a Thomas's cafe pop up. All of which is showcased in the most impeccable style, naturally - as it is Burberry.
What I loved about the SS17 collection was the multi layered fabric texture, with the British heritage colour tones. Great to see how the patchwork bag has evolved, it now has elevated flamboyance and charm.
The Thomas's food display truly was mouth watering, their was a stylish seating area where you could sit relax, enjoy a coffee or something more bubbly. The biscuit and sweet selection was enough to keep me dreaming of breakfast here days after visiting. Heavenly!
I found the collage walled area very inspiring, essentially the collections working image inspiration across one area of makers house walls. Wonderful to see sketches which highlight the features the design team wanted to pull out of their inspiration fabrics. Within this area was also a photo booth, where you could have you photo taken amongst the Burberry statues.
A highly inspirational visit and I recommend anyone to go and soak up all the creative aspects which are held under one roof. What a great space.
