Brighton: Coffee Stops

Brighton Pier, East Sussex

Living in London is non-stop busyness and a huge, never-ending to-do list, and this can take a toll on anybody. Sometimes, you just need to stop and smell the roses and take a break. This break being, a trip to Brighton.

Brighton is small seaside town full of vintage stores, coffee shops and homeware stores. It really is the dream weekend spot as an escape from the busy London city life. After spending the weekend there, I scouted out the best coffee spots and my favourite stores to put together a little design themed travel guide.

Flour Pot
This coffee shop serves the most delicious cup of coffee in Brighton, but the best part, it is also a bakery selling fresh bread every day. This spot is perfect for a little relaxing, after a day of walking through the lanes as well as being a great hideaway from the rain.

The Flour Pot is a good spot for brunch with fresh sandwiches and other lunch based food goodness. Also, they do the best flour-less chocolate cake. Enjoy your foot and your freshly roasted Caravan coffee in their cosy seating area. Their flagship shop is located at No.40 Sydney Street, in Brighton's City Centre, North Laine district.

Small Batch Coffee
Every visit to Brighton, is always an excellent excuse to visit what has become one of my favourite coffee places, Small Batch Coffee shop. This place is perfect for either doing a spot of work or simply relaxing with a book. The chilled atmosphere linked with the warm and friendly service that you always get makes the whole experience amazing.

Pelicano Coffee Shop
If you're in need of good coffee or a slice of homemade cake, Pelicano is the place. The coffee selection is really great, both hot and iced. But, the main selling point has to be the homemade cake. The delicious cake selections change daily with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options.

Pelicano is always the spot that I stop off at mid-way through exploring the Lanes.

Brighton isn't just the spot for some good coffee, you'll also stumble across some design tailored homeware stores.

This independent shop and gallery in the heart of Brighton sells prints that could fit perfectly into any home. The diverse and dynamic range of playful design can be seen across their products from furniture to jewellery.
This couple ran business is the perfect place to find an imaginative gift or the perfect piece for the home.

This store can fill your home up with little homeware details from kitchen knives to candle holders. These are the things that truly make a house a home.
At Workshop, they have a passion for all things created with a simple approach to design and functionality. If you're looking to make your home more 'you', you'll for sure find a few needed home and lifestyle products.
